Nursery

At St Benet’s, our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provision is designed to be a vibrant and engaging environment were children thrive through play and exploration. We prioritise high-quality resources that are carefully planned and organised to optimise learning opportunities.

Our provision incorporates features of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, proven to facilitate children’s learning best.

This includes:

  • A well- structured learning environment that stimulates curiosity and encourages independent exploration.
  • A variety of play areas, such as cozy reading corner, imaginative role-play spaces, Sensory opportunities, creative solutions and construction zones, to cater to diverse interests and learning styles.
  • Accessible and inclusive resources that promote collaboration, communication, language and problem-solving skills.
  • Opportunities for both child initiated and adult- guided activities, allowing a balance between self-directed discovery and scaffold learning experiences, through positive and purposeful interactions.

Overall, our Nursery provision at St Benet’s has been designed to be a dynamic and enriching space where children feel empowered to explore, learn and grow into their fullest potential.

Uniform for Nursery

We believe that our uniform contributes to the sense of pride felt by all our pupils in the school community that they belong to. We request that all nursery pupils wear our school uniform. Further details can be found on our school uniform page. Nursery children do not need a PE Kit.

We do request that all nursery children have a bag with a spare set of clothes, including underwear, in Nursery for any little accidents that may occur. Nursery children should also have a pair of Wellington boots to remain in school.
