St Benet’s is a school belonging to the parish of St Joseph’s in Birtley. Our parish schools, St Joseph’s Infant and Junior Schools in Birtley also belong to the parish of St Joseph’s. Despite being a car journey away from the church, our school is still very much at the heart of our parish. Fr Martin visits the school frequently to celebrate Mass in the school hall or to visit the children around school.

Our Year 4 children are currently preparing to make their First Holy Communion in June 2025. The preparation sessions are delivered in St Joseph’s Parish Centre in Birtley by members of the parish.
